Frequently asked questions

Prices look stale or missing.: Pull down anywhere in the app to refresh. The status pill in the top bar shows Live, Stale, or Paused. If it says Stale, check your internet connection.
Where are my watchlist and alerts stored?: Only on your device. Nothing is uploaded anywhere. Deleting the app removes them.
Do alerts fire when the app is closed?: Alerts are checked while the app is open. Background notifications are on our roadmap.
Does the app have a wallet? Can I buy or trade crypto?: No. Kestrel Markets is information-only. It has no wallet and no way to buy, sell, trade, or exchange anything — it displays public market data.
Where does the market data come from?: Prices, charts, and coin metadata come from the CoinGecko public API. The Fear & Greed index comes from alternative.me.
